Consider this video as an audio podcast (great deals of me talking) with some video (primarily of me talking). I'll be going over keto related topics that remain in the news, going over often asked concerns from my viewers, and in some cases discussing some non-keto stuff (but probably cooking related).
In this episode, I respond to your comments on the term "ketovore", I lament the keto channels that have actually gone missing in action, I share my disbelief and suspicion about the current study correlating red meat usage and type 2 diabetes, and I tease the possibility of increased recipe videos.

This is why i cook bacon on a giant griddle for Halloween, keeps me warm 🥶
I’ll just put on my introvert costume and hide in my man cave. 🤪
What a great idea! I just got some bacon out of the freezer. Actually, chocolate no longer calls to me.
Mostly, I don’t talk about how I eat because it avoids having to argue with people or defend myself. But in my own mind, I would say I am ketovore. I mainly eat meat but am not opposed to a veg now and then, and when traveling, I like taking a Keto Chow shake because it’s easy and delicious.
The big determiner on how I eat is managing my diabetes without meds. I am going to have to tighten up on the carbs because I occasionally eat for the taste, memories (especially at certain times of the year), and the societal pressure that subconsciously wears me down😏 If I’m listening to you, I’m trying to be on the right track…thx, Steve.
Actually, Steve I think ketovore is a good term for me. I follow Keto but if my carbs are a little high I do tend to reduce veggies. I also plan my meals around meat. That is popular in my household. But I would not go carnivore. If I am having a tricky day, due to lunches out or family dinners, I revert to net carbs in an effort to at least restrict what I eat. So I think some of us are all over the place.
I chose to be a ketovore because it fits my body’s needs. 95% carnivore, 5% plants (no fruits).
People form groups. We are social pack animals. Groups will always be a major and minor annoyance of the human experience.
Keto on, Steve!
I need to form my own group and official way of eating. I’m going to call it Steve-o-vore. 😉
Do you eat avocado?
@Serious Keto I will proclaim eternal membership if I can still wave a banner in support of ketofying Candy Corn. 🥰🥰
@Arod Sa I used to eat them all the time. So yummy. Now, not so often. I have less need for food now, so I usually will have one perhaps once a month. Love guac.
@Serious Keto 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Steve. I stay about 90% meat. Sometimes i will eat some veggies. I do use spices, SF ketchup. I love sauces . If we want to help and spread the word about keto/ low carb lifestyle. Lets educate them with keto, then let them go decide if they want to go carnivore. Isn’t it more important that they get well. They will start doing their own research (i hope) and decide what works for them. Telling them they cant have spices, coffee non-sugar sweetners etc. will not help the cause. It has to be sustainable for each individual. I enjoy all your videos reviews, recipes its all information that we need to continue this lifestyle way of eating.
I’m 99% certain Dr. Ken Berry discussed and published a link to the original study along with the new publication.
at a wedding, i was taunted because i didnt eat the crust. i just explained i was allergic to gluten . 😊
i dont think this person even knew what gluten is but they understood the word allergy . I didn’t even try to explain keto OR carnivore.
I just say I don’t like it which is pretty much the truth!
Great points, Steve! And LOVE your shirt! That’s so me, lol. Oh, and I’m one of those people who “cured” my Type 2 diabetes by being Ketovore. My doctor even asked me, “What did you do?”.😂

Dr. Ken Berry did a great review of the study.
Dr Baker did breakdown this “red meat” study last week…you nailed the highlights. They included lasagna as red meat for example completely BS…as usual…I don’t get much grief about Keto or carnivore since I lost 106 lbs after struggling for 60 years being told I’m fat…by the same
A$$holes that told me to eat my vegetables and whole grain bread low fat everything…I like your channel. YT is leaning on all keto thinkers…Dr Berg has been vocal about it
It seems like Dr. Berg is wearing it as a “badge”.
I use to have a lot of red meat .. on a burger bun .. with HFC syrup .. oh I mean ketchup … and a side of fries … I developed diabetes … now I just eat the red meat with a side salad and I’m fine
I always liked Dr. Ken Berry’s term, “proper human diet.” This is how I now explain my weight loss when asked. This eliminates the inevitable snarky comments that people often spew at keto/carnivore/lchf.
Yes! I do the same!
Over six years keto, now mostly low carb. Best shape and health of my life. You’d think at least 1 jumped on the bandwagon. Not a one. They must be waiting for me to die and say I told you so. 😂
I learned to stop saying the “K” word many years ago. I’ve been bullied by so many doctors when I told them I eat Keto. Now I just say low carb.
Had a lipid doctor tell me I was going to DIE if I kept eating this way and not add carbs to my diet. Mind you, I was using a ton less insulin (type 1 here), and my A1C was in the nondiabetic range. So I shot back to her, “well, you’re gonna die some day too”! And I never went back. And I’m still alive lol.
Oh man same here I just say I’m low carb or NSNG
Yep. It goes from “Wow you lost a lot of weight since you were last here! Your numbers are great! What did you change? Keto? YOU’RE KILLING YOURSELF!”
LOL. SMH.
Keto Connect has disappeared. They were one of the first that I watched. At first I missed them, but there are so many others that keep us encouraged and we continue to evolve. The Keto Twins are not only hilarious but they keep all this real, in my opinion the very best doctors are Ken Berry and Dr Eric Westman from Duke University. Dr Westman is brilliant and actually runs a clinic at Duke for obese patients and diabetic patients. He teaches his participants about foods and health ❤
I think Keto Connect had a family health issue which was not keto related. Hence the quit. Westman is great. I like him too.
I thought Keto Connect were in the process of moving. They did get away from keto and tried a variety of different things. I enjoyed when they were strict keto and did more cooking.
I enjoy this channel because it is very accessible, practical and down to earth. You are not trying to drown the fish in the water by inundating the viewer with chemical jargon or trying to sell us some supplements, unlike some channel you just mentioned. Keep up the great work, it’s much appreciated.
I try not talk about keto as it makes people tell me I am going to die or at the very least get very sick.😂. This is a wonderful channel.❤️🇨🇦
I am one of THOSE people who reversed the diabetes. I’ve been diabetic “free” for 5 years. No one will convince me to go back to the SAD way of eating. I like you started with “keto” and now ketovore. Please continue doing what you are doing as I love your channel. As Kim Howerton says…you do you.😊
I really like your cooking videos. Glad to hear you are planning to integrate keto product review and recipes in your Wednesday videos. Thanks again for all your hard work creating valuable content for our keto community.
Being a low carb foodie is not that hard, stay strong Steve and thanks for all you do
