  1. Can’t wait to see if you create some great savory flavor(s) for Keto Chow. I agree with you totally regarding the YouTube personality who is a chiropractor. I won’t say a lot because if you can’t say something nice, etc. But really? All this nutritional advice from a chiropractor? ❤️🥰❤️

  2. I had a chiropractor that was also an MD and he wore a dress shirt and tie. Loved him, we moved across the country and will miss him forever. Tons of people, other than surgeons, wear scrubs. Nurses, techs, vet techs. Pretty much anyone who works where they can easily get yuck on them that wants cheaper, well-made clothes that clean easily. I was a vet tech and wore them for years. Of course, the people you are talking about are trying to falsely convince people they know more than they do. You are absolutely correct about people giving health advice. I always cringe when people tell someone they should switch doctors or ignore their doctor when they have never met the person, have no idea about their health history, family health history, etc. I once saw someone tell a person with a huge family history of major heart issues, not to go to a cardiologist and just do strict keto. But then, I don’t really understand why people go to a group filled with people they don’t know to ask for health advice either.

  3. Thank you for sharing about the challenge of not drinking. You are an inspiration, although you probably didn’t feel that way during it.

  4. Shawn Stevenson has a section in his “Eat Smarter” book that talks and explains alcohol like being the “ball hog” on the basketball court. I no longer think twice about having alcohol, even in moderation.

  5. I look forward to hear about the challenges you faced over the weekend in the future. You’re doing so great with your commitment. Way stronger than me.

  6. Just wow on that Keto comment. I mean, I literally LOL’d . It’s just so over the top.
I’m sorry you have to deal with that kind of insanity.

Also, I’m glad you made it through the wedding without drinking. I can’t imaging your frustration! I personally do not drink due to growing up with an alcoholic father, & the Hell that that was.
    I haven’t drank since I was a teenager, but
even as adults the peer pressure is really something else at weddings & parties. That’s without any personal desire to drink. It really reminds me a lot of the whole food culture of “just one day of eating [whatever junk] won’t hurt you”.🙄

Anyway, just wanted to say… I’m super glad you hung tough.

    1. I hope that it will make for an amusing and/or insightful story when I eventually tell it, but I want to make sure that I’m able to tell it in a way so that the lessons learned are applicable to any addictive behavior (including carbs).

  7. Thanks for turning me onto Dennis at Black Tie. I can see why you two think so much alike. He is hilarious. Remember to always clean because…ants

  8. Steve you’re awesome! Hearing you read that comment out loud even though it was believed out was so funny. It was obviously a stupid comment that no one would take seriously but hearing you read it made me laugh

  9. Congrats on not drinking Steve! As an alcoholic myself, everyday is a challenge because alcohol consumption is so normalized now a days!

  10. I do think you are a chef. Perhaps not to the degree of one from a famous restaurant, hotel, or resort, but a chef none the less. So what if you took your passion and turned it into a YouTube channel. You come up with, and work on your ideas Great job, keep up the good work!

  11. That’s good thinking on the recipes I would have never thought about that as a potential problem that could happen. Congratulations and very proud of you on the drinking. I’m a drug and alcohol counselor and I work in a substance abuse Treatment Center and I know the struggles and hurdles unfortunately people go through. I also think there is a similarity between food addictions and sugary stuff

  12. You crack me up! Also you give me some great food for thought, especially about YouTube videos with “experts” in scrubs. I’d already come to doubt many claims based on reading Taubes and Teicholz, but I still tend to trust anyone in scrubs at first glance. I probably watch too many medical shows! Thanks again for your great podcasts and hoping I can get in on your KC flavor.

  13. 🤣😆🤣 your comment on the surgical scrubs cracked me up. My chiropractor’s receptionist, my dentists assistant and most of the people I have seen who work in retirement homes wear scrubs. If anyone is silly enough to think they lend credibility they are sadly mistaken. You are so refreshing to listen to. I really admire your conscientious outlook on what you put out there. I am so happy with your success on YouTube as well. You are one of the good ones Steve 🤩

  14. Thanks Steve! My belief is that the comment “issue” is all political. I have my reasons for saying this. Thanks again for your transparency and integrity 😊

  15. Can’t wait to see what the flavor (s) will be! Imagine, it may have never happened if you had never “broken down” and tried Keto Chow😁
