Great Low Carb Bread Company – Pizza Crust and Sourdough Bread Review

In my previous review of The Excellent Low Carbohydrate Bread Company, I pointed out that I want they had a sourdough bread. Well, it turns out they do. So in this video, I examine both that and their pizza crust (along with glucose screening). I enjoy that they are a small company and that they are concentrated on reducing the number of ingredients they use. I also love that they utilize olive oil as their fat, unlike many pastry shops who utilize soybean oil.

  1. Great video and entertaining as always. I wouldn’t hate it if you made a move back toward experimental recipes and cooking. I’ve had so many disappointing experiences with ‘keto’ products that I’m pretty much done with them. But hey man, it’s your channel so keep making it great. I’ll keep waiting for more of your wonderful recipe creations. Keto on dude!

    1. I 100% agree with you. I have tried so many keto products and been disappointed that whenever I see something new I have to remind myself to not fall for it again.

  9. What struck me most about the products from this company was how much more wheat is mentioned in the ingredients list than in the Mission brand carb balance tortillas, and yet those spiked your sugar and these did not. I wonder what they do differently.

    1. I believe the issue is that the FDA is pretty relaxed in what can be categorized as fiber. This results in rather untrustworthy “net carb” calculations. My assumption is that Great Low Carb is using something as their wheat fiber that is more “true” than some other company’s “fiber”.

We’ve got a pizza place down here that sells keto pizza, they also have a keto flat bread that they use for bread sticks and sandwiches… I like to have them make my pizza on the keto flatbread and it comes out tasting kinda like a totinos pizza… That’s totally legit for me as I miss those haha, cheap and not great but still perfect! Kinda like ramen noodles… I miss them, how cheap they are! We have Jack’s here and a place that’s basically the same called Pizannos pizza, that was our go to after some of the jacks locations started to disappear in the early 2000s.

  14. I’d love to see you test out the claim that taking 2tbsp of apple cider vinegar just prior to a high carb meal actually reduces the peak of the glucose spike. You’re drinking it anyway so it should be a easy test.

  15. I ordered macaroni & bread from them after seeing you showcase them recently. Nice to have some options. Made grilled cheese & French toast with the bread & it was good. Will try the pasta next week.
