  1. I do Atkins. It’s just a low card, high protein diet. Ive been doing it for a few months and Ive lost over 20lbs. It’s not just eating granola bars😂

    1. Low carb diets cannot kill you if you’re eating the right kinds of meats. Fun fact: the human body is naturally supposed to be in ketosis.

    2. @corgisandcoffee Carbohydrates are literally the main source of energy used by the human body, if we were supposed to not eat carbs we wouldn’t have it as our main energy source. The body literally struggles to maintain energy needs while breaking down fat which is why we need carbs. And negative side effects have been found while staying in ketosis for long periods of time.

    3. Sherae Guerrero pretty sure the only difference is that, on atkins, you slowly increase your carbohydrate intake whereas in keto you…. don’t

  3. I have tried different diets in my day but no one of the stick. I found it hard to follow when you were eating out, or to know what to eat beside the shakes and bars. As a final attempt I joined the WeithWatchers this July and I’ve now lost 28lbs, in 24 weeks. The best decision I’ve ever made in my life! I only have 4lbs to go and then I’ve reached my goal weight. I am healthier, I’ve joined a gym, and I now have a support system that helps me and that will prevent me from going too extreme with my weight loss. If you guys need to try another diet I can highly recommend it.

    1. Congrats on the weight loss!! I’m so glad for you! Especially with the holidays going on, when it’s so hard to not gain. I gained about fifty pounds or so when I had to start a medication (Lyrica, boooo) and I’ve been slowly trying to lose it for, well, a while. It’s been slow but I’m almost there, and it’s really gratifying to get back to where I want to be. I really hope it all goes well for you! Happy holidays and good luck!

  4. I remember Slim fast in like 2009, my mom would drink them, they looked good af… they smelled so gross. (They were canned)

    1. I’m starting my vanilla flavor Monday and let me tell you, I tasted it when I bought it and it tastes like the milk after you eat lucky charms and it smell like baby milk

  5. Atkins diet works pretty well.. I lost a little over 50lbs in only a few months but it sucked because carbs are my favorite and I was always grumpy while I was on it lol

    1. I take it a few months means 2 – 5 months and you probably weighed around 180 – 250 when you began the diet? Correct anything I got wrong.

    2. HoT TaCTiCtZz hey I don’t know if his helps you but I weighed 217 three years ago and it took me 3 months on Atkins to go down to 137 which I loved the way my body looked so I maintained for almost three years. Just letting you know

    3. You have to stick to the proper phases. I. The end you can add carbs back into your diet, but on moderation and still needs to be measured of course. But it’s still not bad considering other diets have boring food; flavourless, bland, yucky food

  6. I was addicted to the french vanilla slim fast shakes…oh my god they were so good.

    Part of me wants to just go buy some in the store to see if they taste as good as they used to…I really REALLY liked them.

  7. Is anyone else frustrated that they didn’t actually share any results? I feel like all we got was “these diets were hard”! I wanted to know the actual affect of them.

    1. It takes a long time to lose weight on slim fast its fast” as in as fast as you can lose weight without making yourself sick, I’ve probably lost 30lbs in a year and a half but I was 200 lbs and I’m on in Vega sustenna it would go faster for you

    2. The slim fast diet works as far as the shakes replacing two meals go as your eating far less calories for each than you would eating a meal. However, the bars dont work with the shakes i dont care what thet say. Ive only lost weight with the shakes while i stayed the same weight for weeks on end with the shakes + snack bars. I think because i was consumimg too much sugar. Also calorie counting is nessasary and i have one reward meal every 7 days. Im happy and not hungry which is important

  8. In the 2000s I did the Atkin’s diet, and I actually loved it. I was technically too young to be doing it, but it was easy to figure out and follow, mostly just meat, carbs from veggies and occasionally fruit, and so on. I actually lost weight with it, too. In the end I found out a brain tumor was causing a bunch of medical issues, and two brain surgeries later and removal of both adrenal glands and I’m down to 115lbs without trying.

    1. Thanks. I’m working on it…and still going through testing. So not sure…I had stomach swelling so I’m off sugar/most carbohydrates as it’s yeast related. 🙁

I’m 30, started getting symptoms at 10, I was diagnosed at 21…I’ve been feeling a lot better lately; most winters I’d basically be stuck in bed. I plan on filming a video or two about it. I basically eat differently and it’s made a huge difference. Thanks for the sub. 🙂

  9. The worst part about the SlimFast plan was it suggested a healthy dinner like “chicken breast and steamed vegetables” like damn i finally get to eat real food and this is your suggestion?

    1. cathy mei your reading comprehension skills are not good. He didn’t say it wasn’t real food. He said “I finally get to eat real food”. Learn to read.

    2. @Iambydefault it isnt about reading. If you’re on a diet, why complain about a perfectly good meal? What is there to complain about chicken and veggies? You cant expect to go all day with meal replacements and then eat 2000 calories for dinner

    1. Exercise and eating less is more important than purchasing diet products. Slim Fast is a set up for failure. Suddenly switching to Slim Fast instead of a healthy diet can be harmful to your body long term. When you eventually return to eating normal food you have no idea what foods to eat and will have to learn to eat healthy or return to your old habits.

  12. Sooo…I never knew this was a 90’s thing. I was born in the 90’s and did Slim fast in high school and college and even now when i want quick results. I was not a fan of this experiment.
